Secure a nail through each hole to the deck frame on top. Secure a nail through each hole to the deck frame bottom. Cut to fit the two decking boards that position in front of the post bracket.  To allow the boards to sit flat, you will need to position the boards without securing to the frame.  Tap a hammer on top of the board a few times to indent the nail heads into the decking boards.   You can allow all the other decking to run long and trim later.

Turn over decking, you should see indents left from the nail heads. Drill out each indent with a drill bit larger than nail heads. You don’t need to remove a lot of material.  Drill out second piece of decking. Decking should now sit flush to the post bracket and surrounding decking. If not, repeat previous sequence.

Secure decking.  Use a chalk line and trim excess decking extending beyond the frame. Insert post into bracket, using a level align post vertically plumb on both sides.  Composite shims may be needed to plumb the posts. Secure post with 1 lag screw and check plumb. Secure 1 lag screw on opposite of post.  Stagger the screws from side to side so they offset each other.
