TOPIC: Shed floor and using gravel
#5713
Shed floor and using gravel 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I have an existing shed (19x11) which is sitting on a wooden foundation that is decomposing...The shed itself is in failrly good condition.

I was thinking of raising the shed slightly off the wooden foundation with jacks and ensure it's supported. Then using the deck system plan build a shed floor (using 2x8 PT lumber and 3 quarter inch plywood) and when complete lower the shed in-place and secure.

As well, I would like to put a 3" layer of gravel down first for drainage....would 3 quarter inch gravel be okay?

Thanks,

Kerry

I don't know how easy that will be, considering you will have to jack up the entire thing. But, in theory, you could do it.
Wait for Deckman's response at least...

Anything is possible with the right amount of time, know how, and motivation. Adding the gravel won't hurt but it is not essential.
