I have downloaded plans for a 4X12 deck and a 4x32 deck to wrap around an L shaped porch. My plan needs to be on posts 18-20 inches high. I plan to build in 8 ft sections and bolt together with one 12 ft section as incline tying into existing ramp of house with raised plat form and tied in support do i still need as many block supports (42) I am submitting bldg dept. and want to submit what i'll do. plans done by local home depot using your supports does not use more than 4 - 6 per 8ft section?

We do not recommend that you attach the floating foundation deck system to an existing deck or porch that is built with conventional construction methods because your floating deck will be rising and sinking uniformly during seasonal changes. This will exert tremendous force on both your floating deck and your exsisting structure, eventually causing damage to both.
