TOPIC: Orienting the Pool Deck
#5845
Orienting the Pool Deck 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I have finished the splash deck and love it. I'm now ready to begin building the pool deck but for the life of me I can't figure out how to square the deck so that the material I purchased according to the material list will work out right. I know how to lay out a rectangle with square corners it's the part of orienting it to the round pool that I'm having problems with. Any suggestions?

This is a common concern so don't feel like you are the only person to go through this. When you build a couple of frames lay them on the ground around the pool. This will get you started. You will still need to make small adjustments to your deck as you build.

Sorry, my question must not have been clear. I have finished the Splash Deck around the pool. It's the "Deluxe" part of the "Splash Deluxe" I was asking about. In other words, the rectangular deck that adjoins the 3' splash deck.

Hello, Deckman are you still there? The answer you gave didn't apply to my question. Are you able to help or am I wasting my time writing?

Squaring up that portion of the deck might take some trial and error. The nice thing about the piers is that you can move them to square the deck. The easiest way to square up the deluxe deck to the splash deck is square up 4 posts of the deck and build off of those. This is explained in the how to build section. The following link will take you there.

Ahh, nice piece of information right there. I was thinking about doing the same thing with my pool next year, so thanks a lot for the information.

Crafting without a sense of humor can be pretty painful. :)
