TOPIC: deck boards 2' on center

deck boards 2' on center 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Hello,

I am going to build the 12' side pool deck for an 18' round pool. I noticed that you have the joist 2' on center using 2"x6" decking. I am going to use 5/4" composite decking. Is 2' on center okay still for this or do I have to add more joists?

Thank you,
Kevin

You will want to check with the composite manufacture, but our general rule is not to exceed 16" when using composite or 5/4 material.

I attached a 12'x12' rectangular plan using 5/4 or composite decking material. You will have to modify it on the pool side, but it shows the spacing you are looking for.

The manufacturer calls for 16" on center so I will have to add three more joists total. Thanks for the updated plans.
