TOPIC: Hiding Piers
#6380
Hiding Piers 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I have seen that piers can be hidden by moving them inward, but won't they still be visible? The pier and the support board should equal about a 12 inch height when assembled. If a 2x6 end bord is used, won't there still be a 6 inch gap? Could a 2x10 bord be used on the ends instead of the 2x6?

Thanks.

When the blocks are hidden then are completely under the deck. They will still be visible to an extent but hiding the blocks allows you to add lattice around the deck.
It is possible to use a 2x10 instead of a 2x6 on the ends. This will help hide the blocks a little more. If you decide to do this make sure not to put the 2x10 on the ground. Make sure there is a gap for air between the board and the ground.
